This article will show you how to change the tax type on the Job depending on what you need. This would be useful if you have jobs that you start charging sales tax on or simply need to change a group of jobs tax type. qCLIPxe users typically do not have to worry about tax type as QuickBooks is the program that controls the tax after the job information is transferred.

Before starting, make sure you have made a complete backup and check to make sure everyone is out of CLIP, click here if you need steps on how to backup CLIP.

Left click Files, hover over Global Replacement, and left click on Replace Information.

Left click to select the Job Data Base, and then Left click Choose Field.

Double click the JB.Tax Code On Job field to select it.

Left Click Replace With, then in the box type either D, L, or M depending on if you have the tax setup as Debit, Labor, or Material. In this example, we will type D, then Select Ok.

Left click Choose Condition, double click JB.Job Number. Now you need to decide what jobs numbers you want to change. If you want to make all jobs Tax Type, select Is Greater Than on step two and enter 0 on step three. If you want to make all jobs from 0-100, select Is Less Than on step two and enter 100 on step 3. In the example shown I am putting all jobs on hold. When you have made your selection, click Use This Condition.

Click Perform Replacement then once it is finished, CLIP will show how many replacements it made at the top right of the screen.
